Certain List One Product Exclusions Extended for One Year

On December 23, 2019, the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) published a Federal Register notice extending for 12 months six product exclusions granted for certain products on the first tranche (List 1) of Section 301 tariffs. The published notices can be read here. 
 
The initial set of exclusions from the List 1 duties was granted for 31 products on December 28, 2018, and was set to expire on December 28, 2019. The USTR, however, had established a process for the public to comment on whether to extend particular exclusions for up to another 12 months. At the conclusion of the public comment period, the USTR decided to extend six product exclusions as set forth in the Annex to this Federal Register notice.  These exclusions will retroactively apply to goods entered into the U.S. as of July 6, 2018, and will remain in effect through December 28, 2020. 
 
The extended exclusions are available for any importer whose product meets the specified product description set forth in the Annexes to these notices, regardless of whether the importer filed any exclusion request or whether the exclusion request had been previously denied.
