PA Kicks Off the Unemployment Compensation Amnesty Program

You Know You Owe. Make It Right.
If you’ve received a pink letter from the PA Department of Labor & Industry (L&I), you or your business is on a list of those who owe money to PA’s Unemployment Compensation Fund. The good news is you now have a chance to make it right.

From June 1 through August 31, 2013, PA’s first-ever Amnesty Program for unemployment compensation (UC) will be in effect. Both individuals and employers are eligible to participate and save on interest and penalties owed.

The Amnesty Program applies to Employers who have:

 unpaid employer contributions through the first quarter of 2012;
 unpaid reimbursements due on/before April 30, 2012;
 unpaid interest due on contributions through the first quarter of 2012, or on reimbursements due on/before April 30, 2012; and
 unpaid penalties for reports filed late through the first quarter of 2012.

L&I has launched a consumer-friendly website, www.MakeItRight.pa.gov, which provides answers to frequently asked questions, and serves as a place to file the required amnesty form and make payments.
